runDisney has revealed the medals for the upcoming runDisney Virtual Series. The medals, which are interactive, are themed to favorite Disney attractions and entertainment. Here’s a closer look!
Interactive runDisney Medals for the 2025 Virtual Series
The runDisney Virtual Series returns this summer, and runDisney has offered a sneak peek at the interactive medals that participants will earn. The medals are themed to the Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Happily Ever After. Each race is $58, and registration opens April 1st. Here’s the announcement and details!
Pirates of the Caribbean 5K
Yo ho, yo ho! A pirate’s medal for you! Channel your inner buccaneer as you run, walk, or jog 3.1 miles to claim this treasure, inspired by the legendary Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. Just beware of ghostly galleons and cursed gold along the way!
The medal features the race logo with map on the front side, and it twirls in place to reveal the skeleton captain from the attraction and a bottle of not-rum. The bottle features a blue liquid and it moves within the bottle as you tip the medal. Here’s a look.
Jungle Cruise 5K
Navigate your own course through 3.1 miles of high adventure to earn this medal featuring the world-famous Jungle Cruise. Just remember—your run may be dry, but your humor should be delightfully pun-ny.
The Jungle Cruise medal features the logo on the front, and a spinning ship’s wheel on the back.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad 5K
Hold onto your running shoes, because this is the wildest race in the wilderness! Conquer your own rugged terrain in this 3.1-mile run, and you’ll be rewarded with a medal worthy of the legendary Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Just watch out for runaway mine trains!
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad may be closed until 2026 for refurbishment, but this medal brings a bit of the ride vehicle home to you (not literally, of course). As you can see below, a button allows you to turn on the headlight on the runaway train.
Happily Ever After 5K
For those ready to go the distance, completing all three Virtual 5Ks earns you the ultimate prize: the Disney Happily Ever After Virtual Challenge medal! Inspired by the breathtaking nighttime spectacular at Magic Kingdom Park, this medal is a dazzling tribute to the magic of dreams, determination, and a finish-line fireworks finale.
