Poseidon’s Trident Is Gone: Lost Continent Demolition Pushes On

The largest landmark of the former Poseidon’s Fury is gone. Crews brought down the towering trident overnight, and new aerial photos show it in pieces on the ground. The demolition marks the most visible change yet in this corner of Lost Continent. Universal is clearing the land as part of a new mystery project.

  • What the overnight demolition took down
  • A look at the trident on the ground in new aerials
  • Where Lost Continent demolition goes from here

THE TRIDENT IS DOWN

The trident anchored the entrance plaza to Poseidon’s Fury for years, rising above the rockwork and the winding water feature below. It came down overnight, as crews worked behind the walls while the park was closed.

You can still pick out the shape of the trident in the rubble. Sections of the shaft and the three prongs lie broken across the pavement, surrounded by debris from the demolition.

A LOOK FROM ABOVE

Aerials from friend of the site Bioreconstruct, show the scope of the overnight work. The before image immediately below captures the trident still standing tall over the plaza, with the two statue bases flanking the drained lagoon.

The after images tell the rest of the story. The trident now sits in pieces near the construction wall, with steel framing and broken rockwork scattered across the area. The teal dome of the Forever Pearls shop still stands, for now, at the edge of the work zone.

WHAT STILL STANDS

The two foot-and-leg statue bases remain upright in the drained lagoon for now. The decorative balustrade that circled the water is partly collapsed, with sections knocked down toward the center of the site.

The pace suggests these pieces will not last long. Crews have cleared most of the plaza around them, and the walls keep this section blocked off from guests walking the pathway below.

THE STORY SO FAR

  • Universal confirmed the demolition of roughly 5 acres of Lost Continent in September 2025, including the former Poseidon’s Fury.
  • The Sindbad theater came down as the first major structure to fall in this clearing effort.
  • Demolition then expanded to two fronts, with the Poseidon’s Fury area drained and cleared for this next phase.
  • The trident came down overnight last night, the largest single landmark removed so far.
  • Mythos Restaurant is set to close in 2027 as the final phase of the land’s removal.

WHAT COMES NEXT

Universal has not announced what replaces this land. The clearing continues to move quickly, and the remaining statue bases and rockwork are the obvious next targets.
