Themed Tarps & Lush Foliage Installed at Moana Journey of Water Construction Site in EPCOT

Later this year, World Celebration will be completed at EPCOT and so will the Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana walkthrough attraction. Earlier today, we stopped by EPCOT and noticed that crews were installing themed tarps towards what we believe will be the “end” of the walkthrough experience. We also noticed more foliage installed than the last time we checked in on the project as the construction site becomes a bit lusher.

We’ll start with a look at the concept art to try and get our bearings a bit. We can see the themed tarps in the lower center of the image.

Here’s a closer look.

Here’s an in-park look at the work taking place to install the themed tarps in the southwest corner of the construction site.

Now, it’s time to hop on the monorail to take a look at the site, which is still mostly dirt even though some pathways have been developed.

Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana is scheduled to open in late 2023.
