911 Calls Reveal Child Pleading for Rescue of Epileptic Mom from Stranded Disney Skyliner; Multiple Guests Lose Consciousness

911 tapes have been released from the night of the Disney Skyliner gondola incident.

According to reports from the Orlando Sentinel and WESH 2, guests called 911 for everything from asking for clarification of the situation to an 11-year-old Lakeland girl pleading with rescuers to come and evacuate her epileptic and anxious mom. It’s the 911 call from the young girl that prompted a rescue effort from the Reedy Creek Fire Department that we were on site to capture.

Fire fighters used a lift to evacuate 6 people from a single gondola in the 3-hour span that guests were stranded due to what Disney is calling a “malfunction”.

“It’s been 20 minutes up here! Please. I’m begging you!”, the child could reportedly be heard crying into the phone. While the Reedy Creek Fire Department was able to address this single cabin, they have been requesting more staffing since earlier this year when they anticipated being short-staffed during an emergency situation.

Other tapes revealed that a man had passed out. Another guest reported that his wife was going in and out of consciousness and that she had a fever. The women can reportedly be heard crying in the background as her husband told dispatchers of a heart condition that she was taking medications for.

“My wife just passed out and came back … I’m just getting really concerned now, it’s near two hours … she’s breathing, she’s just in a lot of pain … oh gosh, she’s burning up,” the man told 911. “This is bad. She’s not going to last long.”

Other tapes revealed that guests complained about the lack of communication, which Disney says it is fixing. “We’re stuck on the Disney Skyliner. It’s going on two hours now and we’re not really, we’re getting some automated message saying that we’re moving shortly,” a caller told a 911 operator.

While Disney has stated that they’ve worked with Doppelmayr to find a fix for whatever happened that caused two cabins to crash into each other in the Riviera station, Disney has not made a public statement as to what actually went wrong.

    1. I noticed how dramatic my fellow Americans are after I started to travel outside the United States. That gondola is small fry compared to the many other systems out there.

Drama Kings and queens I tell you.

        • Yes, that seems to be the root of a lot of these complaints. Waiting for 2-3 hrs in a line for a ride is expected,, this one they just happened to be in the air with a great view. With the exceptions of the legitimate medical issues, the waiting would be same as in line without a fast pass.

    2. If these folks are that fragile health wise what and the heck are they doing at Disneyworld.

Just shows how soft people are now. Can you imagine the whining and crying had this happened on an August afternoon.
