Disney Removes EPCOT Flower and Garden Flowerbeds

Thanks to some recent aerial photos from friend of the site @bioreconstruct, we have a peek into EPCOT and some of the work the horticulture team is doing. As you might know, the horticulture team is one of the teams deemed essential during the park closure and a skeleton crew is tasked with maintaining property.

First, here’s a look back at what the flowerbeds typically look like.

As you can see in the photos below, some of the flowerbeds have been removed that were in place for the 2020 EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival.

In this overview, you can see all of the locations where some or all of the flowerbeds have been removed. You can also see that some of the floating flowerbeds have been removed too.

    1. Not really huge “news”. It was likely done because they’re hard to maintain, especially by a skeleton crew, and there are no people in the park to view them anyways. I’d expect they just moved them to a greenhouse where they can be easily maintained until the park reopens.

    2. Will pass holders be able to receive their Orange Bird magnet or is the flower show over?

    3. The photo showing what it usually looks like is taken during the Flower and Garden festival that ends in May. Most of the year there are not as many flower beds. Extras are added at the start of spring for the festival including the floating flowers in the water.

    4. Why would they leave them there in the hot weather if nobody is going to see them?? There are probably not enough people to maintain them in the pandemic. I’m sure they’ll replace them whenever the parks reopen
