Orange County Health Care Agency Director Dr. Clayton Chau has announced that the county is relaxing their mandate that residents wear a face mask.
The downgrade moves face masks from “required” to “strongly recommended” within the county.
“I want to be clear: This does not diminish the importance of face coverings,” Chau said. “I stand with the public health experts and believe wearing cloth face coverings helps to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community and save lives. By being consistent with the state, this will give our business community and individuals the ability to make the most appropriate decision for them and their situation.”
In yesterday’s announcement from Disney, they did not state that face coverings would be required at the theme parks, resorts, and Downtown Disney when they reopen.
As of publish time, Disney has said that they will reopen with enhanced health and safety measures, but they haven’t defined what those measures will be.
Additional information on enhanced health and safety measures and operational changes for reopening locations will be shared soon. These policies are under continuous review and are subject to change as the Disneyland Resort monitors conditions and receives guidance from health and government authorities.
While it is anticipated that guests will be required to wear masks, we will update you when Disneyland has made an official statement.
Walt Disney World, which will open its theme parks just days earlier than Disneyland, will require that guests and Cast Members wear masks.
