As we look towards the month ahead and await more capacity increases at the theme parks, June looks like a good candidate for at least one capacity bump – if not more. As noted by Disney CEO Bob Chapek, the theme parks will get “low double-digit” capacity bumps throughout the summer, which we take to mean anywhere between 10-15% bumps at a time. If we assume that the parks are operating at roughly 45% capacity right now, we think that we’ll get close to a 80%+ capacity number by the time the 50th Anniversary roles around in October.
With that in mind, we’re still looking at unprecedented scarcity in Disney Park Pass availability in June 2021. As of publish time, here’s how many dates are available for booking in each of the four Walt Disney World theme parks, broken down by park and ticket type.
Resort/Day Ticket
- Magic Kingdom: No reservations available in June (Next available, July 17)
- EPCOT: June 19th
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios: No reservations available in June (Next available, July 24)
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom: No reservations available in June (Next available, July 3)
Annual Pass
- Magic Kingdom: June 3 (23 remaining dates in June)
- EPCOT: June 1st (27 remaining dates in June)
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios: June 13 (16 dates remaining in June)
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom: June 1 (27 remaining dates in June)
As you can see, only EPCOT has availability for Resort guests throughout the entire month of June. This is unprecedented and signals high demand for a Disney World vacation as summer kicks off here in Central Florida.
While we had hoped that there would be a more widespread rollout of capacity, it looks like Disney will add availability responsibly as they continue to reopen hotels and dining locations to match the expected high demand. Disney is currently on a hiring spree, including the largest ever Cast Member “Traditions” class.
Throughout the summer, Disney will continue to reopen entertainment offerings and very likely bring back fireworks in one or more of their theme parks. As always, keep checking back with us here at BlogMickey.com as we continue to bring you the latest news and photos from around the Disney Parks!
