Disney World has sent out a push notification to guests via the My Disney Experience app, notifying them of the upcoming change to their face mask policy. Disney World will not be introducing any physical distancing or capacity limitations at this time.
The change in face mask policy comes after changes in national recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and a plead from Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings to local businesses and residents to wear a face mask while indoors in public spaces.
A similar message has been added to the front page of the Walt Disney World website, directing guests to the following message:
Beginning July 30, face coverings are required for all Guests (ages 2 and up) while indoors and in Disney buses, monorail and Disney Skyliner, regardless of vaccination status. This includes upon entering and throughout all attractions. Face coverings remain optional for all Guests in outdoor common areas.
Furthermore, Disney World has sent out the following message via email:
As we have done since reopening, we’ve been very intentional and gradual in our approach to our COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Based on recent trends and regulatory guidance, Walt Disney World Resort will be making adjustments to these measures.

While Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has banned so-called vaccine passports, private businesses are still free to implement health and safety measures such as mandatory face mask policies like what Walt Disney World will implement tomorrow.
