‘Cosmic Rewind’ Villain Updated to be More Imposing Than Version Seen in the Movies

A report from The Direct puts to rest if Eson, the antagonist from Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, is really that Eson. Fans of Guardians of the Galaxy have been wondering if the Eson that they saw on screen is really the same Eson that aims to wipe out all of humanity on Walt Disney World’s newest roller coaster.

As seen in the movie still below, Eson is a large celestial that has a history of wiping out civilizations, but the movie version of the villain is not nearly as large or imposing as the villain that is represented in Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

Here’s a look at Eson next to Earth in one of the pre-show areas of Cosmic Rewind. The updated look is meant to be more “cohesive” with The Eternals and represents a “new direction” for the design of the character.

So yes, the movie version of Eson is the same as the attraction version of Eson and if the character makes appearances in future movies, it is expected that this newer, larger version will be the one that Disney and Marvel use going forward.
