The EPCOT Monorail line will remain closed for the foreseeable future as crews work to unstuck Monorail Yellow following a flat tire that led to the evacuation of 71 people earlier this morning. The call came into the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Fire Department around 9:30am after Monorail Yellow came to a halt following a flat tire. A spokesperson for the District said that the evacuation took around 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Now, the EPCOT Monorail line remains closed to guests and Monorail Yellow remains in the same spot where it experienced a flat tire near the EPCOT parking plaza. With all guests evacuated and no reported injuries, crews can now work to get Monorail Yellow in an operable state again or tow it.
A tow is nearby, but was not engaged with the monorail as of 11:45am.
Disney World quickly opened a direct bus route to connect EPCOT and the Transportation & Ticket Center as the monorail would. Guests can find the bus to the TTC at stop #8.
