Guests visiting EPCOT now have a new Single Rider option…for now. The very popular Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure has opened its Single Rider line for the first time since it opened more than 3 years ago. The ride was built with a Single Rider system in mind, and the Single Rider sign was even installed before it opened to the public, but it was never used.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Single Rider Line
Walt Disney World doesn’t list the Single Rider lines in the My Disney Experience app, so we didn’t know if the system would be in place until we made it to the entrance of the attraction. Like the Rise of the Resistance Single Rider line, this is considered a limited-time test, but Cast Members are hopeful that it will remain in place through the busy holiday season, at a minimum.
The Single Rider line is not available during Early Entry, but should otherwise be available throughout the full operating day. It’s unclear if it will operate during Extended Evening Hours or any Disney After Hours events.
We made it out to EPCOT this morning to take a look at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Single Rider!
The Single Rider queue entrance can be found on the far left side of the attraction entrance. The Lightning Lane queue entrance has moved to the middle of the entrance, but Lightning Lane uses the same queue system as they always have. Here are way too many photos of the Single Rider entrance before we actually step inside.
The Single Rider queue runs alongside the Lightning Lane queue in the first room before splitting off to the left.
Eventually, the Lightning Lane merges with the standby line at the glasses pickup area. Single Riders have their own 3D glasses pickup bin as they wait to be added to the rest of the queue. Plenty of signage exists to let you know that Single Riders will separated. If you use the Single Rider queue with other members of your traveling party, don’t expect to ride together.
The priority is to keep the main line going, which contains both standby guests and merged Lightning Lane guests at this point. Single Riders will be utilized as needed to fill empty seats and increase the throughput of the attraction.
Walt Disney World has added numbers to the ride vehicles, perhaps to indicate to guests that it is standard operating procedure to put three guests into a row. It’s unlikely that Cast Members operating the attraction need to see the numbers, but who knows.
We didn’t have a significant wait time when we rode Single Rider this morning, but you can expect that the wait times for Single Riders will increase in the coming days and weeks, partially because people will learn about the option, and partially because crowd levels as a whole will increase around Walt Disney World as we head into the busy holiday season.
We’re happy to see the Single Rider queue finally in use, and we hope that it sticks around. Unlike Rise of the Resistance, which wasn’t built with Single Riders in mind, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Single Rider is a fully-themed queue, although you do pass by some of the fun sets that you can only see from the regular standby queue.

In Disneyland Paris version of this attraction, there is dividers to make three different seats. In the US version, in order to allow larger persons on board, the dividers have been removed. This results in guests complaining that there is not room enough for three persons even if told by cast members (because they don’t physically see three seats). There was a lot of complains about this. Opening Single rider lane would have increase complains. Adding stickers is a way for guests to see that there is indeed 3 seats and now single rider lane can open.
Honestly these seats are way too small to be forced to sit by a stranger.
I’m not even a large person but when I go with my kid, I don’t want to sit that close to a stranger with no divider….
