UPDATE (12:50pm): Walt Disney World has removed operating hours for Tortuga Tavern following our original report. It appears that Tortuga Tavern will NOT be reopening after all. We have reached out to Walt Disney World for clarification. Our original article continues below with the now apparently incorrect information about Tortuga Tavern reopening.
According to the Walt Disney World website, Tortuga Tavern will be reopening this week at Magic Kingdom. The quick-service dining location is located in Adventureland, across from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. The location operates seasonally, and it has been closed since early June 2024. Here’s the latest info:
Tortuga Tavern Reopening January 2025
The Walt Disney World website lists operating hours for Tortuga Tavern starting January 1, 2025. The seasonal quick-service dining location will remain open through at least late February, according to Walt Disney World.
There were unfounded reports that Tortuga Tavern would be closed permanently this past Summer. Fans thought that Tortuga Tavern would be transformed into the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean-themed bar, but we’ve been tracking the former Pirates League location since at least May.
Regardless, Tortuga Tavern was not transformed into the Pirates of the Caribbean-themed bar, but it was temporarily transformed into the Tortuga Treasures gift shop to sell Pirates of the Caribbean merchandise when construction of the new bar took over the majority of the gift shop.
Tortuga Tavern is back to its normal empty, closed self at the moment, but Disney says it will reopen in just a few days! We’ll have to wait and see if the Walt Disney World website is correct or not.
