Aerial Photos Reveal Solar Roof for Reimagined Walt Disney World McDonald’s

Even though construction work has paused around Walt Disney World theme parks and resorts, it looks to be chugging along elsewhere on Walt Disney World property with the reimagination of a McDonald’s located near Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

As you may know, the McDonald’s located near All-Star Resort and Disney’s Animal Kingdom has been closed since October 2019 as the location was overdue for a reimaging.

Thanks to photos from friend of the site @bioreconstruct, we have a wonderful look at the all-solar roof that has been installed!

An all-solar roof seems to align perfectly with the mission of the Walt Disney World Resort as a whole to rely more on solar in the coming years.

A reopening date for the McDonald’s has not been announced yet.

As always, keep checking back with us here at BlogMickey.com for the latest Disney Parks news and photos. We’ll continue to bring you news and photos, where possible, through the Disney Parks closure due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and will resume our normal coverage once the parks reopen to guests on July 11th!

  1. It looks like the awning portion is solar but the actual restaurant doesn’t have solar. It is just using similarly patterned glass to match to provide a giant skylight for the eating area.
