India Booth Review – 2022 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival

Making its return this year is the India Global Marketplace between China and the African Outpost pavilions. India has an all-new menu in 2022 and we made our way out to EPCOT recently to give it a try! Here’s our India booth review from the 2022 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival.

    Crispy Paneer (NEW 2022) – $5.00

    Served with mango-curry ketchup

    Rating: 3 out of 5.

While there are some good bites to find, we thought that the crispy paneer was a bit too crispy in places where there was simply too much crunch that was dry and sat in the mouth uncomfortably.

That said, other bites were coated lightly and the mango-curry ketchup was flavorful and paired nicely with the cottage cheese-type texture.

Potato and Pea Samosa (NEW 2022) – $5.25

    Served with coriander-lime cream

    Rating: 5 out of 5.

The India Global Marketplace made a good choice by implementing an all-new menu this year after some average offerings in years past. The best new offering is the Potato and Pea Samosa. As the name would suggest, there’s a soft interior with a nicely baked exterior. We thought that the coriander-lime cream was delicious and we wish there was more. Regardless, this is a five-star item for us and we’d definitely order it again in a lineup of more than 200 food and drink offerings.

    Chicken Tikka Masala (NEW 2022) – $6.00

Served with fennel-spiced yogurt and naan bread

    Rating: 4 out of 5.

Keeping with the theme of good flavor, the Chicken Tikka Masala had a nice spice without becoming too overpowering. We wish there was more chicken though, we only found two small pieces in the dish. The naan was a bit firm in some bites but was a nice addition.

    Beverages

    • Mango Lassi (non-alcoholic) – $5.00
    • Taj Mahal Premium Lager – $5/9 (6/12oz)
    • Sula Brut Tropicale Sparkling Wine – $7.00
    • Sula Chenin Blanc – $5.00
    • Mango Lassi with Sōmrus Chai Cream Liqueur – $11.00

India has put a strong foot forward with an all-new menu this year. If you’re a fan of Indian food, there are some winners here and we recommend circling it on the Festival Guide for your next visit!
