Disney Reopening Could Let Florida Residents Return First

Governor Ron DeSantis is holding a meeting today with the task force to reopen Florida’s economy to discuss, among other things, how to reopen the tourism industry. Walt Disney World President Josh D’Amaro is on the task force to provide Disney’s point of view to the task force.

Within the task force, there is a special committee that will come up with a timetable on when attraction locations like Disney and Universal should reopen. According to a report from My News 13, some of the steps considered would include a gradual reopening of the attractions industry starting with Florida residents before letting national and international guests visit.

DeSantis wants to have recommendations presented by the end of the week on how to reopen the tourism industry.

As of publish time, Disney remains closed indefinitely, but is accepting new reservations starting June 1st.
