Disney has offered a statement (via @ScottGustin) about the COVID-19 testing site opening soon at Disney World. The statement clarifies that the Florida Division of Emergency Management will be operating the location and that testing will be available for all Florida residents in addition to Cast Members and their families.
The statement goes a step further and calls suggestions that the timing of the announcement of the COVID-19 testing site and the agreement that will bring actors back to work are related is “unfounded”. Here’s the statement:
We have offered the location to help with community testing. The Florida Division of Emergency Management will operate the location which is available to Cast Members and their immediate families as well as Florida residents. Any suggestion that this has been done as a result of any one union is unfounded. Our actions support all cast and our community at large.
