As local officials continue to monitor COVID-19 in Hong Kong, a new report from Variety cites local sources as indicating that the theme park could open as early as September 18th.

There have been no official statements or updates to the Hong Kong Disneyland website, but the Hong Kong government is expected to issue new guidance soon.

As a reminder, Hong Kong Disneyland originally reopened on June 18th after being closed for months as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The park was forced to close less than a month later due to new guidance from the government.

Hong Kong Disneyland was recently seen testing fireworks, a hopeful sign that the park was preparing to reopen.
