If you’ve been searching and searching for that hard-to-get dining reservation for your upcoming trip, you may want to check again as Disney has added a lot more Advance Dining Reservations for just about every open restaurant in the theme parks and resorts. You can check for a dining reservation either via the My Disney Experience app or on the Disney World website.

One possible explanation for the additional reservations is an increase in restaurant capacity. We’ve already covered the theme park capacity at length, and more dining reservations would not necessarily signal an increase in theme park capacity. That said, Florida entered “Phase 3” of the Plan for Florida’s Recovery back in late-September. As part of Phase 3, restaurants are able to open at full capacity with “limited social distancing protocols”.

So, while we don’t have an official statement from Disney World stating that they are taking advantage of this section of Florida’s Phase 3 plan, the addition of so many dining reservations would be consistent with an increase in restaurant capacity. Disney World originally operated restaurants at 50% capacity per state mandate back when the theme parks reopened in July.
