According to a local Disney World union, Disney has extended its policy for union-represented Cast Members who have to miss work due to COVID-19. The policy, which is outlined below, has been extended to March 31, 2022:

  • Up to 80 hours of sick pay for missed shifts during two consecutive weeks for an employee not on furlough who has a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 and provides sufficient medical documentation to the company
  • Pay for missed scheduled shifts for up to two consecutive weeks during a Company mandated isolation due to business related exposure to COVID-19

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Disney is facing a backlog of COVID-19 sick pay requests and that Cast Members are experiencing delayed payouts and hours-long phone call waits.
