Photos from bioreconstruct show that the tail has been removed from Walt Disney’s personal plane, aka “The Mouse”. It’s likely that the disassembly of the plane, in part, will be required to ship the plane from Orlando, FL to Anaheim, CA for a D23 exhibit called Mickey Mouse One: Walt’s Plane. The exhibit is presented by Amazon.

  1. The plane will part of a new display called “Mickey Mouse One: Walt’s Plane” announced by Amazon. The Grumman Gulfstream I was used by Walt Disney and his team to inspect property for what would become Walt Disney World. The aircraft has been hold away from the public eye for years, but it was earlier part of the Studio Backlot Tour at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. In present years, the plane has been kept in a backstage area of Disney World near Disney’s Animal Kingdom. D23 and the Walt Disney Archives are operating with Amazon, the new D23 Expo Platinum sponsor, to preserve the plane. With Thursday’s announcement, Disney D23 Twitter account shared a video that added up the classic photos of the plane along with footage of crews performing on it.
