Tornado Watch Issued for Walt Disney World Due to Tropical Storm Debby

Tropical Storm Debby is currently in the Gulf of Mexico as it strengthens before making landfall as a likely hurricane in the Big Bend section of Florida. While the storm will not have any operational impacts on Walt Disney World, guests could experience some poor weather throughout the rest of today into tomorrow.

The National Hurricane Center has issued a Tornado Watch for much of the Florida peninsula today, expiring at 8pm this evening. A Tornado Watch means that a few tornadoes are possible within the watch area, which fully envelops Walt Disney World. Additionally, hail up to a half-inch in size is possible, along with isolated gusty conditions up to 70mph.
