Disney Parks has teased that Luke Skywalker will be coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, with more details expected to be announced next week. In addition to the short video showing Luke Skywalker in Galaxy’s Edge, Disney also used the hashtags “#Disneyland” and “#SeasonOfTheForce”, implying that Luke Skywalker’s appearance may be limited to Disneyland only and possibly only during the Season of the Force event. Season of the Force runs from March 28 to May 11, 2025, at Disneyland. Here’s the teaser video.
Disney Teases Arrival of Luke Skywalker at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Back in May 2022, Disney announced that “legacy characters and original characters” would inhabit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, essentially abandoning the strict timeline that the land sits in. When it first debuted, Imagineers said that the timeline of the land sat between Episodes 8 and 9, but Disney has shifted Galaxy’s Edge to be more of a stage than a specific place set in a specific time.
Disney has said that while guests will soon experience characters and stories from the thousands of years of Batuu’s history, they’ll make sure that characters won’t interact with other characters that they shouldn’t be.
We are committed to the long history of Batuu and the collection of amazing characters who inhabit the outpost including our legacy characters and original characters and know that we will feel the same about new and future characters from the ever-expanding galaxy of Star Wars storytelling. While we as visitors may be able to experience different stories throughout Star Wars history, the characters on Batuu can not. They will remain in their specific story and timeline and won’t intersect with other characters or stories that would not be appropriate for them.
