Following the announcement that showtimes for the Disney Starlight nighttime parade would be at 9am and 11pm, Walt Disney World has extended park hours for Magic Kingdom once the parade arrives. Here’s the latest.
Magic Kingdom Park Hours Extended for Disney Starlight Parade
Starting July 20th, Magic Kingdom will move to a closing time of 11pm. The extended hours have been updated in the My Disney Experience app, and should be updated on the Walt Disney World website sometime soon.
According to the My Disney Experience app, the 11pm closing times will last through August 2nd, at a minimum. It’s possible that park hours could be extended again at a later date.
Just because many offerings at Magic Kingdom will close at 11pm doesn’t mean that guests will be asked to leave right away. The parade will begin at 11pm, and guests will be allowed to stay in the park to enjoy the late showtime before heading home.
The Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away parade will be the first daily operations nighttime parade at Magic Kingdom in nearly a decade. The Main Street Electrical Parade ended its run at Walt Disney World in October 2016.
Walt Disney World calls the Disney Starlight nighttime parade a “a shimmering processional inspired by the classic Main Street Electrical Parade”. Disney says that the parade will be brought to life by the Blue Fairy, and feature enchanting moments from favorite Disney and Pixar stories such as Moana, Peter Pan, Encanto, Frozen, Pinocchio and more.
