Disney Cruise Line has made a primetime push, debuting a new commercial during tonight’s presentation of The Oscars. The commercial features a multi-generational memory, sharing the magic of a midnight stroll on a Disney Cruise Line ship.

The commercial shows how even the simplest moments on a Disney vacation can grow into lifelong memories and treasured family traditions.

The spot, dubbed “Midnight Magic,” follows a father and son as they share a quiet ritual aboard a Disney ship, tracing their relationship across the years, from childhood to adulthood and into grandparenthood.

As a short film, the spot draws inspiration from how Disney creates moments of real connection, sometimes in moments of grandeur and sometimes in the quiet moments they share. The idea of a Disney cruise becoming a family tradition came straight from longtime fans and repeat guests.

In a report from AdWeek, Asad Ayaz, Disney Chief Marketing and Brand Officer, said that the ad spot was very intentional in choosing the spotlight the quieter, more personal moments that guests may find on a Disney Cruise. Ayaz says that those moments are often the ones that leave the deepest impression and turn a vacation into something truly meaningful.

When you sail with Disney—or experience any Disney vacation for that matter—it’s not just about the ship or the destination; it’s about how it makes you feel.

Our ships offer incredible entertainment, dining, and experiences, but it goes deeper than that, and that’s what we’re aiming to show through this campaign.

We very intentionally chose to spotlight the quieter, more personal moments, because those are often the ones that leave the deepest impression and turn a vacation into something truly meaningful.

The spot arrives during an exciting period of growth for Disney Cruise Line. Five new ships are planned by 2031, bringing the fleet to a total of 13 ships worldwide. That expansion includes the recent launch of Disney Destiny in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and the debut of Disney Adventure in Singapore earlier this month as the cruise line’s first ship in Asia.

Along with more departure ports around the globe to destinations spanning the Caribbean, The Bahamas, Europe, Alaska and beyond, this ongoing expansion is enabling Disney Cruise Line to welcome more families than ever before.
