  • The new Disney Cruise Line alcohol policy changes what guests can bring onboard at embarkation
  • The dining room corkage fee is dropping, and port purchases are now held until the end of the voyage
  • Selfie sticks and tripods are now permitted onboard with size restrictions
  • What are the new rules for stateroom door decorations?
  • Which ships get the new alcohol policy first?

ALCOHOL POLICY: WHAT’S CHANGING

The updated alcohol policy applies to guests 21 and older. At embarkation, each guest may bring either one unopened bottle of wine or champagne (up to 750 ml) or six beers (up to 12 oz each). Additionally, all alcohol must travel in carry-on luggage, not checked bags.

In addition, Disney Cruise Line is dropping its dining room corkage fee from $29 to $20 per bottle, a pretty significant reduction for guests who plan to bring their own wine to dinner.

Furthermore, the cruise line will now hold wine and beer purchased at ports of call until the end of the voyage, rather than releasing them immediately. Disney Cruise Line says this aligns the policy with broader cruise industry practice.

The alcohol policy rolls out on a ship-by-ship basis over the first week of June:

  • June 3 โ€“ Disney Fantasy
  • June 4 โ€“ Disney Adventure, Disney Magic
  • June 5 โ€“ Disney Wish
  • June 6 โ€“ Disney Treasure, Disney Destiny
  • June 8 โ€“ Disney Dream, Disney Wonder

SELFIE STICKS AND TRIPODS NOW PERMITTED

Selfie sticks, handheld extension poles, and tripods are now allowed onboard. However, the catch is size: any item must fold down to under 18 inches for use in most areas of the ship. Otherwise, guests must store longer items in their stateroom and use them only ashore.

STATEROOM DOOR DECORATIONS

Stateroom door decorating is a beloved tradition on Disney Cruise Line sailings. Going forward, guests may place decorations on stateroom doors only, not on hallway walls or ceilings. All decorations must still follow existing guidelines.
