New Look at the Streets of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

A new post by the Disneyland cast member Instagram account puts you in the streets of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and the Black Spire Outpost. In the image below, we see a tangled web of cables strung above guests’ heads as the citizens of Black Spire Outpost put together whatever electrical system they can. A centralized, themed column shows off speakers that will likely play not only sound effects to simulate the hustle and bustle of Batuuans as they go about their daily lives, but also some background music composed by John Williams. Check out the new photo below!

While a look inside an unopened land seems to be a rare thing (how many photos did we get from inside Pandora – The World of Avatar?), even Disney CEO Bob Iger couldn’t wait to show off his recent visit to Batuu with a few of his friends.

The first image below is of Iger and J.J. Abrams in the Marketplace. We see more of the makeshift electrical cables here, reminiscent of the Africa section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Here’s a bit of concept art of the same area.

Next, Iger shared the best ground-level look to date at the Millennium Falcon. We’ve also included some concept art from roughly the same angle.

Iger then posted a photo from inside the chess room of the Millennium Falcon has he waited to board the fastest ship in the galaxy. You can see boarding passes in everyone’s hands. If you want to step inside the chess room, check out this 360-degree video from right where the photo below was taken.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is now open at Disneyland and will open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on August 29th.
