While visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios yesterday, we noticed that Savi’s Workshop has been transformed from the Build-Your-Own lightsaber experience into a retail location for guests to purchase the Legacy Lightsabers. Normally sold at Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, the Legacy Lightsabers can now be purchased at Savi’s Workshop.
As you may know, Savi’s Workshop is not offering the build-your-own lightsaber experience right now, so Disney is utilizing the space to sell Legacy Lightsabers. Guests can check in with a Cast Member at the entrance, who will then socially distance parties before they are able to enter Savi’s Workshop.
Cast Members outside of the location will display a QR code with the pricing, which we’ve included below.
Once inside, guests are asked to head to a station to get a closer look at the Legacy Lightsabers before purchasing them.
Guests can also grab some accessories before heading back to the register at the front of the location to complete their purchase.
Of course, there is no question that the full experience is much better than what amounts to a retail location, but if you haven’t been able to see inside Savi’s Workshop for yourself, this is a wonderful opportunity to do so while picking up a Legacy Lightsaber!
For the full Savi’s Workshop lightsaber building experience as it existed before the parks shut down, check out our video below!
Very very very disappointed that this could not continue or have some sort of modified lightsaber experience.
I hope that they are looking to bring the build a lightsaber system somehow back to Disney.
At those prices, I’ll skip buying a lightsaber. I didn’t buy a Harry Potter wand at Universal Studios last trip either because I wasn’t going to spend $50 for a piece of plastic made in China.
I really hope this is just a temporary thing. I have not gone to Disney since Galaxy’s edge opened and if this is permanent then I k ow a lot of people who will not be happy because they did not have the ability to make their own lightsaber. I understand then not offering it due to COVID-19 since a lot of the pieces are touched during the experience.
