A Draining Process: Rivers of America Nearly Dry at Magic Kingdom

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve watched with great anticipation as the water level dropped along the shoreline of the Rivers of America at Magic Kingdom. The draining, which is phase one of a months-long refurbishment, was originally done near a backstage location as if by magic.

Now, Disney has installed pumps along certain sections of the riverbed to get the last bit of water out before crews head in for what we’re told is a long-overdue cleaning.

Here’s a look around from our recent visit to Magic Kingdom.
