New Mask-Free Relaxation Zone at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

A new Relaxation Station has popped up at Disney’s Hollywood Studios recently. The Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular theater is no longer being used as an overflow area for mobile order waiting as we first spotted back in August.

Now, it’s being used as a Relaxation Station, meaning that guests are able to take off their face coverings while stationary and physically distanced from other parties. As you can see in the photos below, 2/3rds of the theater was open to guests today, with only a couple dozen guests resting after lunch.

Once inside, guests are directed to find a free space on the benches were there is yellow tape. Compared to when the theater was marked for physical distancing for shows, there is even more space now – Disney is putting more space between parties on single bench, and they’re skipping two rows between available space instead of a single row. We can see how Disney effectively doubles the space (if not more) between parties without masks on and those parties who would be wearing a mask during a (theoretical) show. As of publish time, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular joins a long list of shows that are currently closed.

The Relaxation Station that used to be located in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has been closed as a result.

    1. I really hope this was not the endgame for the permits they filed last week. If these pop up at Fantasmic and Beauty and the Beast I’m going to be really disappointed. Unless they are using this as a way to see how a socially distant audience will look inside the theatre to plan for restaging the shows. Hoping the next thing we hear is that the cast members of those shows have been recalled.
