Ahead of tomorrow’s grand opening of Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana, the Disney World digital map has been updated to include the self-guided nature trail experience. As you can see in this wide shot, Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana begins to build out “The Pit”, which is how we refer to the center of EPCOT that has been under construction for years. While the majority of the contents of The Pit will be part of World Celebration, Journey of Water is part of World Nature, which also includes The Land Pavilion and The Seas Pavilion. Here’s a wide view of where the attraction sits, just southwest of Spaceship Earth.
Here’s a closer look at the area, which also includes the Moana meet and greet just across from the entrance to the attraction.
The entire Journey of Water attraction can be seen in the screenshot below, which takes some artistic liberties to showcase the entrance rockwork. In reality, it faces the other direction, but including it is probably good for guest wayfinding. Other highlights include the extremely impressive 16-foot-tall Te Fiti figure, which can be found a little more than halfway through the experience.
