‘Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away’ Show Ending This Month at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

According to Disney, the Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away stage show will be closing soon. While an exact date hasn’t been set, we’re hearing that the closing will be in February ahead of the grand opening of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

In the show, new characters and classics alike would take to the stage at the middle of Disney’s Hollywood Studios to strike a pose for guests. The show implemented mobile stages back in fall 2017 to allow for a better view of the Chinese Theater during nighttime shows.

The stages would then partake in a parade (of sorts) backstage after the last performance of the evening.

It’s possible that Disney could be ending the show to provide for a much better visual down Hollywood Boulevard where the brand new Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway sign will light up the night as it welcomes guests to Disney’s newest attraction.

    1. Hopefully this will lead to shows being performed inside Galaxy’s Edge like we’re done for the media event; the last time I was at HS, I saw a total of 8 stormtroopers on stage at the same time. I loved it, it was like a huge step towards making it more “real”.
