VIDEO: In-Park Message Notifies Guests of Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue Issues, No Standby Offered

UPDATE: The Rise of the Resistance virtual queue will open at noon and 2pm today after issues with the My Disney Experience app have been resolved. Our original story continues below.

As we reported earlier today, a systems issue with the My Disney Experience app led to guests being unable to secure a Rise of the Resistance boarding group this morning. Now, an in-park audio message is playing park-wide to notify guests of the unprecedented issue.

Cast Members and managers that we spoke with said that they are unaware of a timeline to fix the issue, but that subsequent messaging will play all around Disney’s Hollywood Studios about 45 minutes to an hour before Disney would open the virtual queue. In the meantime, guests are directed to check out other attractions in the park. Disney is not offering standby at this time even though this seems to be a technical issue with the My Disney Experience app and not with the Rise of the Resistance attraction.
