Joe Biden ‘28,000 Families’ Political Ad Highlights Disney Layoffs

A new ad by Former Vice President Joe Biden called 28,000 Families tells the story of a former server at Disney who lost her job as part of the 28,000 domestic theme park Cast Members who were laid off.

In the ad, which you can watch below, Bessie says that she does not believe that she would have been laid off had President Trump taken the proper precautions in response to the outbreak of COVID-19.

The ad highlights the struggles that many families are facing now as more than 18,000 Cast Members in Florida and roughly 10,000 Cast Members in California are jobless.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek has been in a public back-and-forth with United States Senator Elizabeth Warren over decisions The Walt Disney Company made surrounding the restoration of executive pay to pre-pandemic levels before implementing mass layoffs of Cast Members. While Chapek fired back at Warren saying that her letter was “ill-considered and misleading”, Chapek failed to address the allegations about executive pay.

  1. I’m sorry, it’s Gavin Newsome keeping California and Disneyland shut down. States still have the right to govern themselves whether those orders make sense or not.

  2. That’s a joke right?! There is only ONE reason they are not working and that’s GAVIN NEWSOME!!! Keep electing Democrats and we ALL will be out of work!!!!! Biden wants another shutdown!!!!

  3. Unfortunately the Virus is all over the world – Disney and the US were impacted as much as many companies and countries (although the US is doing pretty well economically all things compared) – To use this situation as a political campaign is quite cynical. Also Newsome is not allowing Disneyland to safely operate so this commercial is like shooting themselves in the feet – Doesn’t make sense.
