Disney Springs has installed and implemented guest screening devices at the entrance points to the location. Previously, there was no formal security screening of guests entering the Walt Disney World shopping and dining district.
Disney Springs is using the high throughput EVOLV security scanners that we’ve seen implementated at the Disney World theme parks. Earlier this summer, Disney tested the scanners at one of the Disney Springs garages ahead of rolling them out to the theme parks. Now, the scanners are permanent at Disney Springs too.
Security managers in the area asked us not to take photos of the scanners in operation at Disney Springs. We previously received permission to take a photo of the setup at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which is pictured below along with a video from EVOLV about the scanners.
As of this morning, the scanners have been installed at the Orange Garage. The Lime Garage is not yet open to guests, but it is likely that the system will be in place there as well.
As always, keep checking back with us here at BlogMickey.com as we continue to bring you the latest news, photos, and info from around the Disney Parks!
Do you know if this is set up on the walkway entrance from Saratoga Springs as well?
That’s why I don’t visit there anymore. I won’t give up personnel rights for safety.
I’d imagine you’re against visiting the theme parks too?
I assume you don’t fly anywhere now.
