Man Arrested for Impersonating DEA Officer with Badge Available on Amazon, Carrying BB Gun at Disney Springs

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, a man was arrested at Disney Springs and charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer and carrying a concealed weapon.

The man was flagged at security for possibly having a gun. Upon further inspection, a deputy found a concealed and loaded Glock 19 replica BB gun. Deputies said that the man said he was recently hired by the Drug Enforcement Agency and the man presented a badge that the deputy said could be found on Amazon.

Both the fake badge and BB gun were seized and the man was arrested and charged with falsely impersonating an officer, unlawful display of a badge, and possession/carrying a concealed weapon.

It’s unclear if the new Evolv scanners detected the replica gun or not, but the new security system was installed earlier this month.

    1. Worth noting you can get into Disney Springs without going through the security scanners via the path from Saratoga Springs, so I don’t think they’re at fault here.
