UPDATE: Harambe Market Closing This Month To Support Menu Overhaul at Animal Kingdom

Walt Disney World has announced that Harambe Market will be closed starting in late October to allow for a refurbishment to support a menu overhaul. Previously announced as “winter”, the closure date has been moved up to October 20th. Here’s what we know, including where you can find some Harambe Market favorites.

Harambe Market Closing for Refurbishment Oct. 20th

Harambe Market will be closed starting October 20th as work begins to enable the location to begin serving family-favorite dishes such as burgers and chicken strips. With Restaurantosaurus set to close February 2nd (final day of operation Feb. 1st), guests will be looking for a new spot to grab an easy lunch or dinner. Enter: Harambe Market.

We love Harambe Market for the bowls and salads that they serve. That said, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will need a large dining venue to be able to support the guest palate that demands burgers and chicken strips.

Harambe Market will be closed starting October 20th to allow Disney to make necessary changes to support the menu change to burgers and chicken strips. Harambe Market will reopen sometime in early 2026, ahead of the closure of Restaurantosaurus with the new menu items.

Fans of the Harambe Market fare will be able to find select items at the nearby Kusafiri Bakery. Kusafiri Bakery will be open for lunch, serving items like the Harambe Chicken Rice Bowl, as well as a plant-based Picadillo Rice Bowl and a Harissa Chicken Wrap.
