This morning, the Disney Parks social media accounts are teasing a Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring The Muppets announcement. The tease comes via a single image, perhaps even a portion of a larger image, with the phrase “Ready to rock”. Here’s a look!

Disney World Teases Muppets Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Announcement
The image features a Kermit the Frog sticker, along with other stickers that may be clues to either the soundtrack or, perhaps, even an opening date! Stickers found in the image include a guitar pick with a lightning bolt between the letters “L” and “K”, the roots of a plant or tree, a stage spotlight, some sort of green print or pattern, and the phrase “Original Idol” with a yellow crown.
If we had to guess, this is part one of a social media tease campaign that could result in the announcement of an opening date or attraction soundtrack lineup.
Back in early March, BlogMickey.com exclusively reported that Disney was targeting a quick turnaround for the attraction. We suggested that Walt Disney Imagineering was targeting an early Summer reopening over a mid or late-Summer timeframe. While we didn’t mention it at the time, that would mean a Memorial Day opening timeframe, if all goes well.
With the teaser above, we imagine that Disney is leading up to an opening date announcement. Recently, Walt Disney World announced a Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reopening date roughly a month before it is scheduled to reopen. If Disney were to be following a similar pattern for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring the Muppets, we’d expect an announcement soon(ish) for a Memorial Day reopening timeframe.
Of course, this is all speculation and not confirmed by Walt Disney World. Anything beyond the teaser image above is to be considered a rumor until Disney officially announces a reopening date.
