Staged near the Hollywood Studios station for the Disney Skyliner system is the bullwheel that will play a critical part in the system. Painted red, the bullwheel can be seen in the old bus loop staging area along with a lot of other parts.
The bullwheel is the mechanism that the rope turns on in a station to return the gondolas to the next station. The bullwheel can be both a motorized or non-motorized. Here’s an example of an exposed bullwheel. Of course, the bullwheel at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be under the cover of the themed station.
