New Bus Loop Opens at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort’s new bus load zone opened today, July 13th. BlogMickey.com previously reported that the loop would open this morning after years of construction. We visited the resort this morning to see it in action. Buses bound for Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios pulled through the loop and picked up Guests when we were there, some under a new covered shelter near the Great Ceremonial House. Crews have also converted the resort’s former main entrance road into a bus-only route.

Polynesian Village Resort’s New Bus Loop Opens for Service

IN THIS ARTICLE:

  • The new bus load zone at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is open and running Guests to the parks.
  • The resort’s former main entrance road is now restricted to Walt Disney World buses only.
  • We recap how the resort’s years-long entrance overhaul led to today’s opening.

We arrived at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort this morning to check out the new bus load zone. Buses were already moving through the loop after the bus stop opened earlier this morning. Multiple Cast Members stood near the boarding area directing Guests and answering questions. Groups sat on wooden benches under the covered shelter to wait. Numbered signs marked each stop, and a laminated board explained the boarding process.

The stop sits near the Great Ceremonial House, with the resort’s distinctive A-frame roofline visible behind the loading area. Each numbered stop lists its destinations. Stop 2 serves Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Blizzard Beach. Guests headed to Disney Springs or Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon should look for Stop 3. A digital Disney Transport board hangs from the shelter roof to display park hours and bus routing. It wasn’t showing live wait times during our visit, but that’s due to a property-wide system outage unrelated to the new stop itself.

Former Main Entrance Now Restricted to Buses

The road that used to serve as the Polynesian’s main Guest entrance now carries a “WDW Buses Only” sign and matching pavement markings. Guest vehicles that once used this stretch now take a different route in. As we reported when Disney notified Guests of a permanent Seven Seas Drive closure, driving directions to the resort now split by which section of the resort Guests are visiting.
