PHOTOS: First Look at Cable Installation of Disney Skyliner Gondola System at Walt Disney World

As we told you yesterday, haul cable installation was imminent for the Disney Skyliner gondola system at Walt Disney World. As it turns out, the first section of haul cable that the gondolas will travel on was installed last night. Note that while there are a variety of wires seen, the haul cable is the lowest one, running across the wheels of the gondola towers.

We even got to Hollywood Studios early enough to see some work still being done. If you look closely, you can see a pulley as well as the large spool that the cable comes on.

Here’s a look at the cable as it enters the Hollywood Studios station.

The Disney Skyliner gondola system is expected to be operational by mid-2019.
