Hollywood Studios is the First Disney World Theme Park to Reach Capacity for All Ticket Types

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is going to be the place to be this summer. An update to the Disney Park Pass reservation system shows that the park is now full for regular park guests on July 17th and 19th, making it now impossible for any ticket type to reserve those dates. These are also the first dates to fill up for the regular ticket type. Disney’s Hollywood Studios was also the first park to fill up for the Annual Passholder and Disney Resort ticket types.

Of course, the vast majority of dates still remain available through September 2021 for not only Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but all four theme parks. That said, seeing Disney’s Hollywood Studios become the first theme park to fill up for regular ticket types likely foreshaodows what you might want to prioritize when planning your own vacation. We’ll talk about planning a little more in depth as we get closer to the parks reopening.

With some of the newest, most popular attractions at all of Walt Disney World, it’s almost predictable that Disney’s Hollywood Studios would be a popular park to reserve as well.

We’ll continue to bring you news and photos, where possible, through the Disney Parks closure due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and will resume our normal coverage once the parks reopen to guests on July 11th!

    1. Why would ANYONE want to go to the Parks now, in the Summer, when Florida is one of the worst states for rising COVID-19 cases, AND the heat/humidity while wearing a mask? So glad we moved our cancelled trip to October, where we were able to book all 4 Parks with no problem. Yes, you can’t get tickets for MNSSHP, but then again, we’ll have plenty of room to walk around because the kiddos will be back in school!

    2. Are there any official numbers as to what “capacity” means in this covid era? 50% of usual max? 100%? I have no clue and haven’t seen that info anywhere. Thanks!

      • Disney hasn’t said what “capacity” is and there aren’t any numbers from local, state, or federal government

    3. How where you able to book 4 parks. System only allowed me 3, and I’m a Pass Holder. Would’ve love to stay one xtra day on my bday month of Sept/20

    4. Am I the only person that finds it insane they are booking through 9/21 already? My family has been going every 3-4 years since 2004. This year was actually our year, but we decided last year we would wait until 2021. I appreciate the usual 6 months out book the restaurants and 90 days out the rides. I like to look at the late and early park openings for the resort and figure out the park of the day by that calendar. There is no way I can book which park I want to go to at the moment. I think this system is crazy. Why can’t they use the wait and see approach from at least March ‘21 on.

    5. I believe the maximum capacity is about 15,000 visitors and the capacity will increase slowly over time. Tickets will be sell out for 2020 and try to but tickets for next year or two years from now.

    6. Because if you’re staying at a hotel you can book any park for as many days you’re staying at their hotel. I certainly hope this over dramatized nonsense goes away after the elections which I’m sure the virus will just up and disappear like a fart 💩 in the wind! 💨 watch and see… you’ve all been had! This is nothing but an over exaggerated hoax!

    7. I got Kawasaki disease as a kid a week after returning from Disney World. In the hospital on high dose aspirin for a month. Almost needed fingers amputated. Germs from every corner of the country as it is. Why would anyone go now?

    8. We’ve rescheduled our vacation to the end of November but, if masks are still a requirement by then we’re going to cancel and go the end of next year. We were supposed to go in March but, 10 days before our trip everything closed.

    9. I cancelled my August trip because Disney doesn’t want me there. I first have to quarantine for 14 days, on my dime, because I am from NY. Then I have to quarantine 14 days when I get back. Parks are at 50% capacity and you need to make reservations for the park. NO THANKS. I have to wear a mask all day in 95 degree and high humidity. People are going drop like flies breathing in their own carbon dioxide. And the mask will make you sweat even more. Disney can go scratch until things get back to normal.
