Disney Executive Pay Cuts Related to COVID-19 Reportedly Ending This Weekend

According to a report from Deadline, Disney executives will soon have their paychecks restored to their previous levels. As we wrote back in March, Disney executives took a pay cut to better position the company to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. The pay cuts implemented were as follows:

    • Bob Iger – Forgoing entire salary
    • Bob Chapek – 50% pay cut
    • Executive Vice Presidents – 30% pay cut
    • Senior Vice Presidents – 25% pay cut
    • Vice Presidents – 20% pay cut

According to Deadline, Disney executives were notified about the restoration in pay yesterday, but it was unclear if Iger or Chapek would be included in the restoration of pay or not.

The news of the executive pay comes just a day after BlogMickey.com learned that tens of thousands of unionized Cast Members remain furloughed, a figure that represents roughly 50% of the Disney World union.

    1. DISNEY EXECS: “Austerity for thee, not for me! (Even though I make in a year what a lower employee makes in 4-6 years!)”

It’s getting really hard to reconcile the gross behavior of the moneyed elite with what they’re doing to service workers during all this. I’m done with the Disney company.

    2. Meanwhile, I have been without pay since mid March with no end in sight. 21 years with this company, and this is the way they treat me and others.
