Disney Cuts Attractions from “Standby Pass” Lineup at Shanghai Disneyland

Disney has scaled back the attractions that require a “Standby Pass” at Shanghai Disneyland following an expansion of indoor capacity allowed at the theme park. As you might remember, Disney was able to expand their capacity at Shanghai Disneyland thanks to a new government initiative to resume tourism.

Last time we checked in on the Disney Standby Pass, this was the attraction lineup:

    • Buzz Lightyear Planet Rescue – Tomorrowland
    • Challenge Trails at Camp Discovery – Adventure Isle
    • Disney Color-Fest – Walt Disney Grand Theatre
    • Peter Pan’s Flight – Fantasyland
    • Roaring Rapids – Adventure Isle
    • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – Fantasyland
    • Soaring Over the Horizon – Adventure Isle
    • The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh – Fantasyland
    • TRON Lightcycle Power Run – Presented by Chevrolet – Tomorrowland

Now, Disney has cut back significantly on the attractions that require a Standby Pass. Here’s the new lineup:

    • The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh – Fantasyland
    • Peter Pan’s Flight – Fantasyland
    • Roaring Rapids – Adventure Isle
    • TRON Lightcycle Power Run – Presented by Chevrolet – Tomorrowland

What is a Disney Standby Pass?

Disney Standby Pass is an innovative free online reservation tool launched by Shanghai Disney Resort to help guests reserve times to enter the queue line for select attractions. It can help reduce your physical wait time in attraction queues, and significantly enhance your overall park experience.

Disney Standby Passes will only be required from 12pm to 5pm during the park hours. Outside of these hours, Disney Standby Pass will not be required to enter the queue lines of the select attractions. For the time period when Disney Standby pass is applicable, the corresponding attractions are only open to guests who hold either a Disney Standby Pass or Disney Premier Access. Guests can obtain Disney Standby Passes on the official App after entering the park.

Disney Standby Pass will not necessarily be required every day. When attendance is low, Disney Standby Pass will even not be turned on for the entire day. Please check the Official App to see if Disney Standby Passes are required on the day of your visit.
