Guests visiting Walt Disney World this holiday season will have a little more convenience when it comes to shopping in the theme parks. Beginning December 20th, guests visiting all four Walt Disney World theme parks will have the option to utilize the package pickup service that allows them to have merchandise that they purchased taken to the front of the theme parks for pickup before they leave at the end of the day. Package Pickup is currently scheduled to be suspended again on January 3, 2021.
The package pickup service wasn’t offered when the theme parks reopened, but it seems like that was more a function of staffing than anything safety related. The fact that Disney is bringing it back for a limited time suggests that they may have increased staffing to allow for the logistics of the service in light of what they predict will be a busy holiday season. If the suspension of the service was actually safety related, it would not be returning at this time as Disney still has many procedures and policies in place as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Package pickup will be available at the following locations:
- Magic Kingdom: Chamber of Commerce
- EPCOT: Gateway Gifts
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Oscar’s Super Service
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Park entrance near Guest Relations
Resort Hotel Delivery remains suspended at this time.
