Maharajah Jungle Trek Aviary Closed for Refurbishment at Animal Kingdom

The aviary portion of the Maharajah Jungle Trek is closed for refurbishment at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Cast Members we spoke with expected the aviary to be closed for at least a month, but an exact reopening date was not known. The rest of the Maharajah Jungle Trek remains open to guests, with a bypass in use while the aviary is refurbished. We stopped by Disney’s Animal Kingdom earlier this morning to check in on the Tree of Life repainting project and walk through the Maharajah Jungle Trek.

The tiger viewing area is still accessible to guests, but the entrance to the aviary is closed. Guests walk to the left in the photo below to bypass the area.

Lifts are staged at the exit to the aviary, and we could hear some pressure washing taking place within the aviary when we walked by.
