The 2022 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is underway, and as part of our coverage, we’re going to review the Food Studios. Here’s our Gourmet Landscapes Food Studio Review.

Gourmet Landscapes is a returning Food Studio and is located in the Canada Pavilion.

Blood Orange-braised Beet Carpaccio (NEW) – $5.50

Blood Orange-braised Beet Carpaccio with mustard vinaigrette, pickled clamshell mushrooms, golden beets, and crostini (Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine – Red) (Planted-based)

A middle-of-the-road effort here, you’ll likely really need to enjoy beets to enjoy this dish. Unless you’re really interested in trying everything at every Outdoor Kitchen, this is an easy pass. That said, you’ll have to order this if you’re doing the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine.

Roasted Bone Marrow (NEW) – $10.50

Roasted Bone Marrow with onion marmalade, pickled mushrooms, mache lettuce, and bone marrow snow

Perhaps the most interesting dish of the festival given the fact that you get a bone sliced in half, this is also a huge disappointment. We’ve had some good bone marrow at Disney, but this certainly doesn’t fall on that list. While this offering is worse than the beets, we’re getting closer to the true star of this Outdoor Kitchen and one of the top items in the whole festival…

Wild Mushroom Risotto – $9.25

Wild Mushroom Risotto, Aged Parmesan, Truffle Shavings, and Zinfandel Reduction

The Wild Mushroom Risotto is a returning item and one of the top items in the entire festival. While our aged parmesan portion was poor, the entire dish benefits more from the truffle flavor and zinfandel reduction more than anything else. One of our requirements for a 5-star dish is a willingness to reorder multiple times throughout the length of the festival and we certainly will be doing so!

• The Meeker Vineyard Winemakers’ Handprint Merlot, Sonoma County, CA – $11
