Great Ceremonial House Crossbeam Removal Underway at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

As we told you late last week, Disney will be removing some of the decorative crossbeams at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. A large crane was seen on site to assist with the overnight removals, which should take place over the coming weeks as Disney reimagines the arrival experience at the resort. Here’s a look at the concept art, showcasing a fewer number of crossbeams among other changes.

We dropped by Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort this afternoon to take a latest look at the work taking place. As you can see in the photos below, a few of the crossbeams have been removed from the western side of the Great Ceremonial House.

From inside the resort, guests can’t see the work just yet.

    1. The word iconic is used all too often, but in this case it applied. That roof has been a part of the WDW landscape from the beginning. Sooo sad to see it go. Not all change is good or necessary.
