Iger Leaving Disney in December 2021; “Seriously” Considered Presidential Run, Now Seeking Role in Biden Administration

According to a report from Bloomberg, Disney Executive Chairman Bob Iger will be formally leaving The Walt Disney Company in December 2021.

In the wide sweeping interview Iger confirmed that he seriously considered running for President as a Democrat, but ultimately decided that a businessman would have a difficult time getting the nomination in today’s Democrat Party.

Iger went on to talk about how he wants to “serve our country in some fashion” and that he would seriously consider a role in the upcoming Biden administration. According to Bloomberg, Iger’s name hasn’t popped up on any shortlists of Biden nominees. Iger gave $250,000 to the Biden campaign earlier this year.

Whatever Iger chooses to do post-Disney, he said that he has a lot of energy left and a huge amount of curiosity. Iger has been approached by private equity firms, but hasn’t committed to anything yet.
