In a world of spreading capital expenditures across multiple fiscal years, one thing is still built quickly at Disney World: hotels. The latest example of that is the Disney Vacation Club tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. A large crane is now on site to assist with the construction as crews continue to pour foundations for the multi-story structure. Before we jump into the construction photos, here’s a look at the concept art for the tower.
For a more detailed look at where the tower will fit into the current Polynesian Village Resort footprint, check out our article below.
Continuing with our latest look at the construction site, here’s a peek from the monorail as it passes by from east to west.
Recently, friend of the site bioreconstruct took to the skies over Walt Disney World and provided a wonderful look at the construction site from roughly 3,000′ above the Magic Kingdom resorts area.
In this closer image, you can see how the monorail cuts through the site, and just how large the yellow crane is. We can also get a better look at the shape of the building, which will wrap slightly around the waterline to the left. Much like the DVC addition to Grand Floridian or Contemporary, there will be no new monorail station as part of the Disney Vacation Club tower. Guests will just utilize the existing station at the Great Ceremonial House nearby.
