Ahead of the July 24th retirement of Disney Genie+ and the debut of Lightning Lane Passes, Walt Disney World has pushed a notification to guests utilizing the My Disney Experience app. The three-page, full-screen notification advises guests of the changes and shows screenshots of how guests will be able to make skip-the-line selections when the Lightning Lane Pass system goes live tomorrow morning.
The digital notification below follows the distribution of physical pamphlets over the past few days to guests visiting Walt Disney World.
Lightning Lane Passes are the new name for the former Disney Genie+ system. More specifically, Disney Genie+ has been renamed to Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and Individual Lightning Lane has been renamed to Lightning Lane Single Pass. There are more changes to the system too, including the ability to pre-book up to three attractions before you arrive, and new rules about Lightning Lane redemption, Park Hopping, and more!
